Building a Community Centered Infrastructure for Dementia Care and Research Access

Building a Community Centered Infrastructure for Dementia Care and Research Access is focused on creating inclusive, community-driven systems that improve dementia care and make research opportunities more accessible. The talk emphasizes trust-building, equity, culturally responsive care, and long-term community engagement to improve outcomes for people living with dementia and their families.

Mirella Díaz-Santos, PhD is a Spanish-English bilingual and bicultural neuropsychologist, and an Assistant Professor In-Residence in the Department of Neurology at UCLA DGSOM. Dr. Díaz-Santos is the director and founder of the “Equity for Latinx-Hispanic Healthy Aging (ELHA) Lab,” at UCLA Mary S. Easton Center for Alzheimer’s Research and Care. Her area of research is the development and implementation of interventions fostering greater accessibility to dementia clinical care and ADRD clinical trials for Spanish-speaking Latino/a/e and Hispanic communities.
