Talk Title: Study design considerations for prediction modeling in biomedical research
Abstract:
This talk will review study design principles for research projects that aim to construct prediction models in biomedical sciences. Appropriate study design is crucial for the development of clinically impactful prediction models and errors in study design are often not correctable analytically. Topics will include study populations, experimental design, outcome assessment, sample size considerations and analytic plans. Example will derive from cancer biomarkers and electronic health records prediction models.
