Talk Title: Digital twins of human and monkey retinas

Abstract:

I aim to develop computational models that respond to visual stimuli the same way our eyes (and brains) do. To achieve this goal, my lab has begun to develop hybrid neuro-AI models that incorporate biophysically-detailed neuron models into fully-trainable AI architectures. In this talk, I will show how these hybrid neuro-AI models enable us to overcome key challenges in using AI to build digital twins of the visual system. I will also discuss our ongoing efforts to apply this neuro-AI framework to model the retinas of humans and monkeys.
