Rosario B. Jaime-Lara is a Nurse Researcher and Assistant Professor in the UCLA School of Nursing. Her research focuses on studying nutrition and health disparities in Latinx communities as well as studying the underlying mechanisms associated with eating behavior in the context of obesity and health. Before coming to UCLA Dr. Jaime-Lara completed a research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). She received her B.S. in Biology, with an emphasis on Neurobiology Physiology and Behavior, from the University of California, Davis. She then entered a Nursing program and completed a B.S. and a M.S. in Nursing at Columbia University. She worked as a Public Health Nurse - helping transition acute-care patients (including patients suffering from obesity-related complications and comorbid conditions) from a hospital to a community setting. She received her PhD from the University of Pennsylvania (Penn) School of Nursing.
